The Great Yeldham Reading Room is a registered charity No. 1087808.

It is governed by rules set out under an order by the Charity Commissioners dated 19 June 2001.

It was set up to replace the previous Reading Room charity which was not a registered charity.

The Trust may be contacted through Mr R. Liming, 62 Butlers Way, Great Yeldham.


TRUSTEES:
There should be:
1 ex officio Trustee who is the member of Braintree District Council for this area.
The 4 Trustees nominated by the Great Yeldham Parish Council.
There may also be up to but not more than 3 co-opted Trustees.

The Trustees nominated by the Parish Council serve for term of 4 years at a time. If they do not serve the full 4 years of their term their nominated successor must be nominated to serve the unexpired remainder of that term only. Trustees having completed a term in office may be nominated for a further term following on immediately from the previous term.
Trustees nominated by the Parish Council do not have to be Parish Council members.

The current Trustees are:
Mr C. Cumaranatunge (Chair and Secretary), Mr D. Dyson, Mr J. Beckett, Mr B. Sargeant, (nominated members, terms ending on 7 May 2011)
Mr. N. Mc Crea (ex officio member).

MANAGEMENT:
Larger financial and structural matters are the responsibilty of the Trustees.
The trustees have chosen to excercise their option to delegate the day to day management to a Management Committee.

The Management Committee must consist of at least 7 members. Of these at least 4 must by appointed by the Trustees and at least 3 must be elected at the annual meeting of the inhabitants.


ANNUAL PUBLIC MEETING:
Each year the Trustees hold an meeting of the inhabitants.

At that meeting the Trustees present the report and accounts for the previous financial year.
Elections are held for at least 3 members of the management committee (if formed).
Any other business is conducted which, they in their discretion, in consultation with the any sub committee, decide should be put before the inhabitants.

'Inhabitants' means all the inhabitants in the area of benefit which is The Parish of Great Yeldham and the surrounding neighbourhood.
