GREAT YELDHAM PARISH COUNCIL

MINUTES OF THE GREAT YELDHAM PARISH COUNCIL HELD IN THE READING ROOM ON SEPTEMBER 2ND 2004.


Present were:- Mr Cumaranatunge, (Chairman), Mr M. Wood, Mr R. Francis, Mr T. Ellis, Mr D. Gray. Mrs P. Slimming, Mrs B. McNeill, Mr B. Sargeant.

Apologies for Absence: Miss S. Smith. County Councillor Mr D. Finch. District Councillor. Mr Nigel G. McCrea.

In attendance; Mr R. Liming. Clerk to the Parish Council.


858. The minutes of the meeting held on July 1st 2004 were considered by members and approved as a correct record.

859. Mr D. Gray declared an interest in item 7 of the agenda, accounts for payment, he then signed the Declarations register. Mr Gray retired from the meeting for item 7.

860. Correspondence:
The Parish Council were advised that a mobile VMS sign would be in operation in Church Road approximately between 20th 9.04 and 13th 12.04.
Thoughts and opinions on CCTV and joint working with the Braintree District Community Safety Partnership were considered by members and it was agreed that completed documentation be returned requesting more information.

861. Planning.
One Planning application , No 2004/1634/Ful, Two Storey Side Extension was considered by members. No objections were recorded.

862. Cluster meeting and proposed items for agenda,
It proposed that:- .The qualities of CCTV, now on review by B.D.C. and The removal of our Community Policeman with out any notice,. be included on the agenda.

863. Accounts for Payment were considered by members and approved for payment

The Clerk informed members that the sum of £100.00. had been received from J.F. Dean & Sons, who were the owners of the Funfair recently based on Bowtells Meadow. It was resolved by members that the quotation of £80.00, received from Mr Metson to cut the Boundary hedge of Bowtells Meadow, be paid from this money. The remaining £20.00 would be given to the Garden Society to help with this years show.

864. Chairmans matters of importance.
The Chairman read a letter to members that he had received from Mrs. McNeill and Mr B. Sargeant The letter related to their concern at various actions taken by Mr Cumaranatunge whilst acting in his role as Chairman of the Parish Council. The Chairman then acknowledged receipt of the letter. He then made the point that in every story there are two sides but now wished to conclude the matter and hoped that in the future, the entire parish Council would be able to work together .
