MINUTES of the MEETING of the GREAT YELDHAM PARISH COUNCIL held in the Reading Room, Great Yeldham on Thursday 5th July 2007. Present were:- Mrs. P Slimming (Chairman), Mr. B Sargeant, Mr. R Francis, Mr. J Beckett. In attendance :- Mr. R Liming Clerk to the Parish Council. Apologies for absence:- Ms. M Baker, Mr. R May, Mr. I Spencer, Mr. D Dyson, Mr. J. Cumaranatunge. District Councillor Mr. N McCrea. County Councillor Mr. D Finch. Questions from the Public. None Received. Declarations of interest on agenda items:- None Received. 1083. The minutes of the meeting held on 5th June 2007 were confirmed as a correct record. 1084. Correspondence. Members were made aware of information letters which were then referred for filing. 1085. Planning applications referred to the Parish Council for comment. Application No 07/00128/FUL. Notice of appeal against refusal of application. Members instructed the clerk to write to the Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State and confirm their opposition to this application. 1086. Accounts. Internal procedures and controls. The Chairman discussed with members a document received from the Internal Auditor, explaining the internal procedures and controls applied when completing The Annual return for the year 2006/2007. 1087. Internal Auditor. Members appointed Mr. Gordon Thomas FCA as internal auditor for the year 2007/2008 1088. Members approved the signing of the Annual return of Accounts for the Audit Commission. 1089. Right of burial form for Yeldham Woodland Glades. Members approved the acknowledgement of Right of Burial form, showing receipt Of purchase of plot. 1090. Insurance of Parish Council Assets. Members instructed the Clerk to increase the cover on the pending new Play Area. 1091. New Play Area on Bowtells Meadow. Members approved the quotation received from SMP play equipment for the proposed new play area on the Bowtells Meadow site. Total cost will be £22,047.05 plus VAT of £3,859.82, total £25,906.87 which the Parish Council will be able to recover:   £15,000.00. Grant from Community Initiatives Fund.   £5,000.00. Parish Council Precept, 2007/2008.   £5,906.87. To be paid from Parish Council reserve fund, of which £3859.82 will be recovered from VAT. Unanimously approved by members. 1092. Accounts for payment were approved for payment by members. Date of next meeting:- Thursday 6th September 2007. Reading Room 7.30pm.
