2149. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST.
None received from members.

2150. TO CONFIRM THE MINUTES.
The minutes of the meeting held on Thursday 10th April 2008 were confirmed as a correct record.

2151. PLANNING APPLICATIONS.
Application No 08/00515/FUL. Crossing Cottage, Great Yeldham.
Notice from B.D.C. that the application would be considered on 20th April 2008.

2152. CORRESPONDENCE.
A letter received from Mrs. Dormady, The Orchard, North Road, Great Yeldham requesting the replacement of a dog bin at the Bowtell's Meadow site, was referred to the clerk to confirm the replacement in the near future.

A letter confirming that intended work on local footways will be programmed for the year 2008, was received from District Coucillor Mr. D. Finch.

A letter from Mr. Ian Spencer, Chairman of the Sports ground Committee, and supported by Ms. M. Baker, Mr. R. Francis, Mr. R. May and Mr. B. Sargeant was read to the meeting by the Chairman.

A letter received from Mr. C. Cumaranatunge was also read in full to members by the Chairman.

The Chairman then concluded by saying that:- This matter is an irritation and I would like to be put to rest lest it fester further.
The matter has been looked into by the Standards Board who upheld Councillor Cumaranatunge's right to raise the matter in the first place and no one can challenge this.
They have not felt it necessary to investigate the allegation made by either side in the dispute so there is no question of the Sports Ground Management Committee having been found to have done anything improper.
That would seem to be the best way to let the matter rest, too much Parish Council's time has been diverted into these peccadilloes and I ask all concerned to let the matter drop and get on with the proper business of the council.

2153. ACCOUNTS FOR PAYMENT were approved by members. It was then approved by members that the accounts be signed by the Chairman and Clerk and passed to the Internal Auditor for his approval.

The meeting closed at 2130.
