MINUTES of the MEETING of the GREAT YELDHAM PARISH COUNCIL held in the Reading Room, Great Yeldham on Thursday 4th December 2008. Present were: Mrs P. Slimming (Chairman), Mr. B Sargeant, Mr D. Dyson, Mr. C. Cumaranatunge, Mr J. Beckett. In attendance: Mr. R. Liming, Clerk to the Parish Council. Apologies for absence: District Councillor Mr. Nigel McCrea, County Councilor Mr D. Finch. 2207. Declarations of interest on agenda items. None received from members.
2208. To confirm the minutes of the last meeting. 2209. A letter of resignation from Councillor Ms. M. Baker stated that due to business and other commitments, she wished to resign her position as Councillor with immediate effect. The Chairman instrusted the clerk to write to Ms. Baker, thanking her for her past contribution to the Parish Council.. 2210. Election of Vice Chairman. Mr C. Cumarantunge was elected to the office of Vice Chairman. 2211. Land exchange, Burial Ground - access to Yeldham Glades After discussion, members decided that it would not be in the Parish Council's interest to proceed until further negotiations had taken place. The clerk to report any progree at the next Parish meeting.
2212. Planning applications. Application No 08/02087/FUL. Great Yeldham Water Treatment Works. Provide secure storage of materials. No objection from members. 2213. Correspondence. Correspondence relating to matters of importance were read to members and referred for filing when appropriate. 2214. Village Magazine. A letter received from the Little Yelham Village Hall Management Committee, complaining about the quality of the poor printing in the magazine together with the varying delivery times and offering to print the magazine free of charge, was read to the meeting by the chairman. Accepting that the letter was well intended, and the events leading to the concern of the Management Committee were caused by a number of unusual events, now corrected, members voted to decline the offer of free printing, made by the Little Yeldham Village Hall Management Committee. 2215. A request by the Cottage Garden Society to place a planter of seasonal flowers on the village green was deferred until more information could be obtained from the Essex County Council. 2216. Local Clerks Society membership. Members approved the renewal of the Society membership for the sum of £82.00 2217. Precept 2009/2010. A total Precept for the sum of £35,015.00 was approved by members. 2218. Accounts for payment were approved for payment. The meeting closed at 2115 hrs.The next Parish meeting will be Thursday 5th Feb 2009 at 7.30 in the Reading Room. |
