MINUTES of the MEETING of the GREAT YELDHAM PARISH COUNCIL

The meeting was held in the Reading Room, Great Yeldham on Thursday 3rd June 2010.

Present were:  Mrs P Slimming (Chairman), Mr C Cumaranatunge (Vice Chairman), Mrs L Cordell, Mr J Beckett.

In attendance:  Mr R Liming, Clerk to the Parish Council.


2378.  Apologies and reasons for Absence.
Mr D Dyson, Mr B Sargeant, District Councillor Mr N McCrea, County Councillor Mr D Finch.

2379.  Declarations of Interest.
None received from members.

2380.  Chairman's Greeting.
The Chairman welcomed members of the public to the meeting.

2381.  Public Question Time.
No questions from the public.

2382.  The Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting and the AGM held on Thursday 13th May 2010.
The minutes of the Parish Council meeting and the AGM were confirmed as a correct record.

2383.  Accounts for Inspection.
Accounts for May will be available for the July meeting.

2384.  Planning Applications.
No applications received.

2385.  Correspondence addressed to the Parish Council.
Information documents were passed to members. Members were informed of a letter received from Braintree District Council relating to the Local Government Act 2000 - Ethical Framework. The letter reminded members that it was their duty to register any interests required to be registered under paragraphs 12 and 13 of the Code of Conduct.

They were advised to review their respective registers of interest.

They were advised of their duty under paragraph 14 of the Code of Conduct to provide written notification to the monitoring Officer within 28 days of becoming aware of any changes.

A completed register, confirming that members had been reminded of these requirements, has to be returned to B.D.C. by August 31st 2010.

A letter received from B.D.C. relating to Casual Vacancies on the Parish Council confirmed that the closing date for the receipt of requests for an election to be held was 16th June 2010.

2386.  Great Yeldham Children's Christmas Party.
Members approved the donation of £300.00 for the Children's Christmas Party.

2387.  Future Administration of the Sports Ground.
The Chairman proposed that, subject both to legal requirements being completed (as required by the Charity Commmissioners), and that a detailed proposal to that effect be included in the July meeting of the Sports Ground Committee, the Parish Council should take over the Sports Ground administration. This proposal was approved by members. The Chairman then informed members that the next Sports Ground meeting would be on Thursday 1st July in the Reading Room at 7 p.m., to be followed by the Parish Council meeting at 7.45 p.m.

Councillor Cumaranatunge proposed that a paid position of Caretaker to the Sports Ground be created and that the post be advertised in the Parish Magazine. Members agreed to this proposal.

2388.  Accounts for payment.
Accounts for payment were approved by members.

 

To be in sequence these minute numbers should have 1000 added to them. Always quote month as well as number.
