MINUTES of the MEETING of the GREAT YELDHAM PARISH COUNCIL

The meeting was held in the Reading Room, Great Yeldham on Thursday 1st July 2010.

Present were:  Mrs P Slimming (Chairman), Mr C Cumaranatunge (Vice Chairman), Mrs L Cordell, Mr J Beckett, Mr B Sargeant, Mr D Dyson.

In attendance:  Mr R Liming, Clerk to the Parish Council.


2389.  Apologies and reasons for Absence.
District Councillor Mr N McCrea, County Councillor Mr D Finch.

2390.  Declarations of Interest.
None received from members.

2391.  Chairman's Greeting.
The Chairman welcomed members of the public to the meeting.

2392.  Public Question Time.
A member of the public, Mrs Glenda Wood, stated that a local paper had reported that a member of the Parish Council had been in court this week charged with assault. The Chirman answered that as it was a private matter she was not at liberty to make any comment. Members of the public were reminded that they could complain to the Standards Board.

2393.  To Confirm The Minutes of the meeting held on Thursday 3rd June 2010.
The minutes of the Parish Council meeting of 3rd June were confirmed as a correct record.

2394.  Accounts for Inspection.
Accounts for May 2010 were available for inspection.

2395.  Planning Applications.
Application No 20/00849/FUL. Disabled crossover and hardstanding at 69 Highfields, Great Yeldham. No objections from members.

Application No 10/00875/FUL. Erection of detached house and buildings on land adjoining Newcombes, Poole Street, Great Yeldham. Members objected to this application because the site was outside the village envelope.

2396.  To co-opt a new member to the Parish Council.
Members unanimously voted to co-opt Mr James Douglas Hughes, Spaynes Hall, Great Yeldham. Mr Hughes signed the required Acceptance of Office form.

2397.  Correspondence Addressed to the Parish Council.
Information documents were passed to members. The Chairman read a letter, received from Mr A. Martin, in which he refered to accusations about his character made by members of the public. The Chairman expressed sympathy with Mr Martin, but felt that she could not think of any present councillor who would make such allegations, also that the matter was not the concern of the Parish Council.

2398.  Future Administration of the Sports Ground.
The Chairman informed members that the three remaining Sports Ground Trustees, Mrs P. Slimming, Mr B. Sargeant, and Mrs L. Cordell had proposed and passed a resolution at the Sports Ground Committee meeting held on the 1st July 2010, that the Sports Ground Committee administration should now be run by the Parish Council as the Trustee. The Sports Ground Committee will now inform the Commissioners.

2399.  Accounts for payment.
Accounts for payment were approved by members.

 

The next meeting of the Parish Council will be on 2nd September 2010.

To be in sequence these minute numbers should have 1000 added to them. Always quote month as well as number.
