| MINUTES OF THE GREAT YELDHAM READING ROOM ANNUAL MEETING OF THE INHABITANTS Held at the Reading Room, 14 October 2004 at 8.00 pm.
Present: Mr. C. Cumaranatunge (Chairman of the Trustees) in the Chair. The report of the Management Committee: presented by Ms. S. Smith (Chair): "Again we had a busy year. The Committee have worked hard to ensure the Reading Rooms continued to be available to the people of Great Yeldham. I must on behalf of the Committee welcome Mark on to the Committee as our link to the Trustees. We have continued to obtain funds through various avenues to maintain the building to an acceptable standard. This has mainly been via hire charges and requests for grants from the Parish Council. The fund raising ventures this year as in the past years have not met with the response we would like. I must pose the question Does the village really deserve such dedicated individuals as they have through the management committee or such pleasant facilities as they have in this building. The work needed to bring the building up to the requirments for Disabled access is in progress but as yet not started as we have to apply for funding. Mark is very kindly attending to this on our behalf. And finally I must thank the Committee for the work."
The Financial report: was presented by the Treasurer, M. Wood.
We have recently received a further grant of £500 from the Parish Council. Together with our existing funds this will cover:
Appointment by the Trustees of 4 members of the public to the management committee:
Election of at least 3 members of the public to the management committee:
Any other business: The possibility of requesting a a regular grant of funds from the Parish Council was raised. It was felt that at present we stood a better chance of the Council approving requests of funds which were for specific costed projects. The meeting was closed at 8.45 pm. Minutes taken by MW. |
